This old rug has some wear to show for her many years! See photos and closeups. The edges have a few tears and most of the pile is worn down. There are some small holes (see video and close ups). There is one hole that’s about 1.5” square. There is another slit in the rug about 3”. Along one edge (see video) is a bit of adhesive residue from a past repair. Note: This area can be patched and the holes and edges can be professionally mended for an additional fee. Please reach out if you’re interested and I can go into more detail! This worn piece is an opportunity to have a oversized piece in your collection at a lower price point than a piece with less wear. A rug of this size, in pristine condition would cost 3x more in the current market. The width on this piece is especially rare and likely means it was created for a person or family of nobility. Rugs over 12’ wide are a special find! Most looms at this time were not built for making rugs that wide - even in larger cities.
