Vintage Moroccan Azilal rug, circa 1970s. These incredible rugs were made in the Azilal region of the High Atlas mountains North-East of Marrakesh. Common materials used are wool and cotton dyed with vegetable dye and scraps of recycled cloth or yarn in bright colors. These rugs were made for personal use, by women - often for sleeping or floor coverings.
